Bowling Green Police Department to Conduct a Training Exercise at SKyPAC
Bowling Green, KY – Thursday, February 11, 2016 – On Friday, February 12, 2016 the Bowling Green Police Department will conduct a training exercise at the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC). Training will consist of various scenarios and will take place between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. (CST).
As part of SKyPAC’s Emergency Training Sessions, which take place annually with staff and volunteers, and in light of the numerous and heartbreaking tragedies occurring across the globe, we deem training such as these extremely important. We are pleased to work with the Bowling Green Police Department’s Critical Response Team by offering the use of our facility which in turn gives us a better understanding of police activities should we have an incident.
“Ensuring the safety of our patrons and visitors is a responsibility every public venue shares and all of us here at SKyPAC take that seriously, said Jan Zarr, SKyPAC Executive Director. It is important that members of the community, our patrons and visitors, know that internal and external training occurs, and safeguards are in place.”
Jackie Goldammer, who oversees SKyPAC Operations & Events, added, that “Local emergency responders and their services are vital to every member of this community, and the training that will take place here on Friday will be of benefit to all. We are grateful to the Bowling Green Police Department for sharing their experience with our staff, and maintaining their familiarity with our building’s footprint.”
Although SKyPAC will be closed to the public during this time, patrons will still be able to purchase tickets by phone and online at TheSKyPAC.com.
